What has happened to Circlist?

In mid 2014 Circlist received the news that the hosting service which housed it was going out of business. Closure was scheduled for August, but fortunately that did not happen, and so we had time to reorganize. At the same time John, the site owner, decided he needed to withdraw for family reasons, and Chris, the editor, decided that he had done enough and wanted to retire too. Chris has put in a colossal amount of effort into the site and we all owe him a huge debt of gratitude.

However, that did leave us in limbo, and under pressure I agreed to take over, initially as site owner. But we needed a new editor, and I have taken this on as a temporary measure. We need a new long-term editor (or editors) and anyone who is interested should Requirements are basically a sound knowledge of html and a strong commitment to promoting circumcision.

It was not possible to simply port the old site to a new location for many reasons. Partly this was because it had become so rambling that there were all sorts of out-of-date bits turning up if you dug deep enough. Partly, too, it was because some of the content did not fit either my standards or those of the new hosting site. For example, there were stories from the old Circlist discussion group, and I think everyone will understand that things that were quite OK in a private, members-only, group may not be appropriate in a public site. Also, we will now only post images of genitalia which are justifiable on medical grounds. (I don't think that will leave us short of pictures!)

In the short term, you will probably find many broken links and other glitches, but please be patient. And, of course, do tell me about them. And do, please, send your comments, share your experiences, and in general become a part of Circlist.

James
