When Did You First Learn About Circumcision?
Our Members Tell All!

I first saw a circumcised penis when I was three years old and growing up in Singapore. My mother belonged to the Eurasian club and was friendly with an Australian woman who had married a Chinese Malaysian - her sons were cut. I remember thinking "how unusual" - I don't know at the time whether I thought they looked better than mine, but certainly I didn't think they looked worse. I asked my mother for an explanation and she told me about circumcision. I learned the word when I was three!

We moved to Australia shortly afterward, and like the other Aussie guys here, I found myself in a very distinct minority at school (early -mid seventies). And I got teased mercilessly by the other kids. It seemed as though the whole world except me was cut. Knowing that girls would be much more used to the circumcised penis was my biggest anxiety - which was compounded a bit when I finally managed to get a girl into bed some years later. My foreskin was the subject of much negative comment by my first three partners.

I was cut at 23 and revised last year - couldn't be tighter and happier.

Growing up in Toronto in the 1970's, I almost never saw a foreskin. Like all of my friends, I had been routinely circumcised.  The circumcision rate here must have been close to 90%, and those very few who were uncut no doubt took pains to conceal their status.  The only boys in my secondary school who were uncut were a group of Hungarian immigrants, and all but one of them made sure their penises were never observed.  The first foreskin I ever saw was on one of these Hungarians. It was in the showers after phys-ed class.  I was 13.  I thought it looked extremely weird, but Gabor, its owner, was a pretty weird kid to begin with, and his odd-looking cock was just another eccentricity which I didn't question.

The first time I heard circumcision mentioned was the following summer.  I was camping with some other boys.  A cousin of mine, who was a few years older than the rest of us, was with us.  After a swim in the lake, one of my friends asked him whether or not he was circumcised.  My cousin had a weird circumcision: the skin was removed on one side of his cock, but not on the other.  My cousin said that the doctor had tried to "compromise between cleanliness and pleasure."  He pulled the skin forward over his glans and I saw that he had considerably more of it than I or anyone else had.

The following year I began attending the down-town YMCA.  There the foreskin rate was higher, but not by much.  I used to ask the uncircumcised boys where they were born. Almost all of them came from Europe or French Canada.  Only one said that he was born in Toronto.  I was extremely bewildered as to how he could have been born in Toronto and not be circumcised.

Foreskins were perceived by me and my peers as "barbarous."  The boys who had them were not "civilized" or "modern."  A friend of mine said that these guys were not yet "finished."  This is how we perceived them, and this is the language we used.

Not sure when I figured out what circumcision was.  But I do remember when I was around 11, in an Irish boarding school, three of us comparing cocks. One was the son of an English doctor;  he was a routine infant circumcision; the second guy had recently been cut because of "a problem";  and me, uncut.   I knew then that I wanted to get circumcised - the cut cocks looked beautiful compared with mine.   But it was about 25 years before I did anything about it.  It's now been about 3 months since my second circumcision, and I'm thinking I may go for a third one to get as tight a cut as I want.

Mine is a pretty typical mid-West American story, I think.  I grew up UNcut in a very CUT society.  I was born in 1958.

My father was not circumcised until he was 19 years old.  He got circumcised by the Navy.  He argued with the doctor to make sure that I would not be circ'd, as the doctor who delivered me was very PRO-CIRC as most US docs were in 1958.  So, when born I kept my skinhood, although the doctor did "run a tool under it" according to my mother so that I could be skinned back and washed from day one.  My mom & dad made a rather big issue of the importance of skinning it back and washing it. Unfortunately, my father died when I was four.  So, discussion of this and other sex topics fell to my mother.   Even well into my teens I was asked if I "washed good down there".  Very embarrassing for a teen boy, especially when it's your mom asking.

All of this early attention to my penis and foreskin, in fact, is what taught me to masturbate and I've been doing it ever since.  I regularly had "dry runs" as a boy, which were just as pleasurable as the orgasms I had once I entered puberty and could actually "shoot my load".  Also because of this early attention, I became very interested in other boys "dinkies", as we called them.

At about age 6, I noticed the infant penisâ of some of my relatives whom my mother frequently baby-sat.  I was always around at diaper changing time to see if their skin covered the head like mine did.  After a number of these boys had been displayed to me, I began to think that my skin was abnormally long (i.e., that a normal foreskin didnât cover the glans, and that is why I was always being asked about cleaning mine.  I would be several more years before I knew what circumcision was.)  Thus, during the ages of 6-12 I spent lots of time getting other boys to show me their dinkies.  All, without exception, had a bare glans.  When I finally asked if I had a birth defect, my mother explained that all boys were born with foreskin, but mine hadnât been removed because it really wasnât necessary.

To my dismay, I never found another boy who was not circumcised until I was 12 years old, 6 years after I had begun to have sex play with other boys and 6 years of checking out boys for their circ status.  This includes looking for other skinheads at the YMCA, school gym showers, sex play in my playhouse with many friends and cousins, etc.   I began to think I was the only boy on the planet who handn't been circ'd!  :(   Finally, when I was 12 I found another boy (in the gym showers) who had a foreskin.  During the following school years I found a couple more.  I made it my goal in life to know who had skin, who didn't, how tight they were cut, scar type or if uncut, how much foreskin they had.  Out of the 350 boys in my school, there were only 6 UNcircumcised guys.  Of those, only 1 of the 6 was a jock-stud that was attractive, had a good self image and seemed happy and didn't try to hide his UNCUT status.  Consequently, I fell in love with the Circumcised cock and wanted to have mine done but was way too embarrassed to ask.

During this time, I also spent hours looking in health and baby books, National Geographic and anywhere else I could, to find information on circumcision.  I was obsessed.  I particularly loved finding photos of it and even more so when I found it discussed sexually in Playboy or Penthouse (usually by a women saying how much she preferred circumcised cocks.  Just looking at the word ăcircumcisionä in those days would be enough to bring me off with just a couple of strokes to my long foreskin.)

During this time, as I mentioned, I was having sex with many boys.  Mostly mutual masturbation and blow jobs.  A couple guys didn't like to suck me because my dink smelled bad.  I washed it regularly (daily) but that wasn't enough as the head would become moist almost immediately in those pubescent days.  Additionally, whenever I would meet a new guy to mess around with, I would have to explain why my dick looked "weird". All of the guys that I messed around with sexually during those years were beautifully circumcised; some tight, some loose, but all very defintely CUT.

It never really occurred to me to keep my skin peeled back as the frenum (frenulum) was short and tight, as was the skin.  When soft, it peeled easily, but when hard the skin opening was a bit too snug.  Most of the guys never peeled me back if they could help it, which was fine with me because the skin was tight, the frenum was short and the head was very sensitive.  This worked fine for both hand jobs and blow jobs in these early years.  By the time I was 15, I was working on peeling it back when hard and stretched out the skin.  However, during a stretching, rubbing session against an older cousins butt, my frenum ripped and I was out of commission for several weeks.  This was actually helpful as I kept it peeled back during the healing process which allowed for my frenum to continue to be separated when healed and therefore was (is) no longer tight.

All during these years I worshiped the cut cock and wanted one just like all of the other boys.  I even knew how tight I wanted to be cut, etc.   But, when I went to college (where I had hoped to get circ'd), I found many Cut boys who loved a "man" with foreskin.  By this time, I had become quite dominant sexually, and it seemed that the circ'd boys who were submissive felt that the stinky foreskin was masculine.  To this day, it is the only reason I haven't been Circ'd.  Also during my childhood years, I had sex with many of the little neighbor girls.  I liked that, as they didn't seem to know the difference between Circ'd and UnCirc'd.  Many had seen other cocks, but didn't notice the difference.  That didn't change until I was well into high school.  As girls became more sexually experienced, they too learned to ask about my "weird" looking cock and universally seemed to prefer the cut cock as it was more attractive and tasted/smelled better.  Even to this day, I rarely find a girl that prefers UNcut cock.  Most seem to have a heavy preference for CIRCUMCISED men.

So, as you can see, CIRCUMCISION was imprinted in me at an early age and was reinforced throughout the years.  I am never more turned on than when I read a Circ story about a boy being forced to undergo the procedure at camp, school, by a relative, etc.   During those early years, I really wanted some male to take me in hand and have me circumcised.  These fantasies are both homo & hetero sexual.  I continue to favor circumcision but don't think it should be done at birth unless that is the only way it is going to be done.  Neonatal circs do an o.k. job, but you get a better (higher and tighter) result when done during childhood, teens or early adulthood.  They seem to be tighter and have  a better scar line than infant circs.  It also gives the boy the opportunity to know what has been done to them and to appreciate it.  I can't tell you how many guys do not know they have been circumcised.

I was born on the East Coast of the USA in 1980.  I knew my dick was different than all of my friends for as long as I can remember.  Every time we would pee at the school urinals, every shower we took at the health club... on every occasion I knew that my penis was different.  When I was about six, my older brother told me why that was... we weren't circumcised and all the other boys were.  We grew up in a mid-sized town, and I had the opportunity to see about 70% white boys, and about 30% black boys.  All it seemed, had been routinely circumcised.  Of the course over the next few years, my older brother would teach me all about circumcision and foreskin.  We both always wanted to be circumcised.  We were good looking, all-America boys in every way but one.  We would eventually see a couple other uncut boys at school.  They were usually European born and when asked, they also wished they were circumcised.

When we finally talked to our father about it (when we were well into our teens) he told us that the doctor had said it was no longer fashionable and that many of our friends would be uncircumcised.  Not wanting us to feel odd or that we had been deprived of our foreskins, he and my mother (who we would later find out was a strong pro-circ advocate) left us intact.

At 16  me and my 18 year old brother were both circumcised while our father watched.  It was the happiest day of my life.  My girlfriend really likes it circumcised and says that she wouldn't want an uncut boyfriend.  My brother already had a girlfriend with whom he had been sexually active before the circ, and he says she was really turned on by his circumcision.

I know they say that there are many uncut guys out there nowadays, but it does not match up with my experience.  Any boys both me or my brother have will be cleanly circumcised, all-America boys!

I have two brothers and I saw their cocks a lot when we were younger as myself and my older brother shared the same room with our younger sister up until he was 16 when he moved out. His cock was "uncut". I knew this because our cousin was "cut" and so was our dad and mom explained the difference when I asked.  I was about 7 years old at the time and it was my first introduction to circumcision.  My brother was two years older than me and had a long, somewhat nippled foreskin.  We called the cut and uncuts  "mushrooms" or "triangles" (I'm not sure why !)  When I asked my older brother about why he had a foreskin, he always said that he had had the operation when he was a baby but that it had re-grown his foreskin.

When we were younger and played truth and dare with our cousins, we sometimes used to push up my brothers foreskin for a dare as he was the only one there with one.  He usually got at least partially hard and my cousins were always shocked to see his purple head pop out of the tight skin ( We used to think that maybe it couldn't breath because of the skin over it) Then one day when we were  playing truth dare he pulled down his pants and his dick looked like a "cut" one. We were all very surprised and commented about it asking why his " Triangle" had become a "mushroom". He said it had been like that when he woke up that morning.. We accepted that, but later on when we bent over to get his pants, something fell off it and his foreskin returned. He had had a rubber band holding it up that had fallen off when he bent over. He just looked very embarrassed and said that he had fooled us all! For a while afterwards whenever I saw his dick he had the rubber band on it, even in the bathroom!  I was 8 at the time so it did not seem overly strange to me.

However one day it all ended when our mother caught him with it on in the bathroom (she used to come in and make sure we were washing ourselves properly like moms will do.) She made him take it off at once and inspected his young penis.  Then they went into our bedroom and talked for half an hour. Mom and dad argued about money when they came home (knowing the price of private hospitals now..)

A week later my brother did not go to school, but was home when I got back. He couldn't walk properly and just lay in bed. He had been "cut". He showed me his dick and it looked awful, all bruised and sore with stitches in it, but he got a week off school which alleviated some of the suffering I think :). But it got better over time and he was soon fine. I saw my brother's dick often till he was sixteen, and I have to admit it does look better when its done. I wouldn't discriminate against some poor guy because of his cock.  But I prefer it a guy be circumcised. Interestingly enough when our younger brother appeared on the scene in 1962 he was cut as a baby.  It didn't have all of that swelling and when he came home from the hospital it practically looked like he had been born that way.  He only a little red circumcision line and a cute pink, bare glans with some loose skin bunched up behind the head.

Hi.  I'm a teenage girl in California.  I just recently learned about circumcision and wanted to fill out your survey.

I've only had two boyfriends that had showed me their cocks.  Both were, thankfully, circumcised.  But I didn't know that at the time.  They just looked normal to me, and quite sexy I might add.  Both had big, uncovered, pink heads that just made me want to kiss them!  But my girlfriend is Hispanic and so is her boyfriend.  She's 18 years old and just a few months ago showed me some nude photos of her and her boyfriend.  I was shocked to see his soft penis covered in foreskin.  It looked really gross to me, but I didn't want to offend Dora, so I said he was a good looking stud.  I eventually asked her about his foreskin and if she ever wondered about boys and circumcision.

I learned about circumcision in health class in the 9th grade.  But it was all pretty abstract to me.  I knew the word, but I really didn't get the full meaning.  When I saw my first boyfriend's cock, the word circumcision didn't even occur to me.  I just assumed all boys had a bare head like he did, and that this is how all boys were born.  Somehow, I just didn't connect the two.

When I brought it up to Dora, she said that most of the Hispanic guys are uncut, at least until they get older.  She said that she didn't mind that her boyfriend was uncut, but that she didn't like to suck it unless he had just washed it (as it did have a tendency to be smelly.)  Dora said that she knew of several guys who, at the age of 17-25, had decided to get circumcised to both please their girlfriends and to look more like most American boys.  I think it's a good idea and Dora hopes that Louis gets clipped before they get married.  She said she would like to have her sons circumcised, if she ever has any.  Meanwhile, I've asked Dora if she can get Louis to show me his uncut cock in person.  I don't want to have sex with him, but I do want to see what one looks like close up.  Then when he circumcised, I want to see it again so I can compare.
